How to Get Cheap (but Reliable!) Pregnancy Tests - $1 or less at the Dollar Store, Walmart, and Amazon!

I am always shocked when I see how much pregnancy tests cost at the store -- easily $10-$15 (or more) depending on the brand!  I could never stand to pay that much, so I was thrilled when we found some great cheaper options.  Since we're currently expecting baby #6, we have lots and lots of experience with trying out different tests!  ;)

These are all super options if you're dealing with infertility, you just can't stand to wait any longer, or want to take a dozen tests just to be sure!  The costs of raising children add up fast -- this is an excellent way to start on the right foot by saving money now before they're even here!

Dollar Store:
The one we've used most often have been from the dollar store (Dollar Tree specifically), and they sell them for $1! (obviously, lol)  I've used them quite a few times over the past 13 years and I have found them to be very reliable!  I've never had a "false" reading and we trust them completely. (They have the same sensitivity level as many of the name brands, such as ClearBlue, e.p.t., First Response...etc)

I used to find these in the HBC section, but now they are often by the register to deter theft.
*Dollar Tree also has ovulation kits for only $1.  I haven't personally used them, but I have heard good things about them as well!

Walmart:
I recently discovered an .88¢ section at Walmart that has some really good bargains -- including "First Signal" pregnancy tests for only .88¢!  This is the one we used with this current pregnancy and it worked just as well and easily as the Dollar Tree tests.
*My photos were from the HBC section near the pharmacy, but I've also seen the .88¢ items at the checkout.

{this is the proof of our current bun in the oven}

funny story....last year I pulled an April Fools joke on my husband by having a sweet pregnant friend take a test for me and then left it in the bathroom for my husband to find.  It was the best. joke. ever!  Since we thought we were done with 5, he was so shocked he couldn't believe it - he almost puked, he almost cried....it was awesome, lol!
This year I took this test a couple weeks before April 1st and as it showed positive in seconds, the "joke" was on me this time!  ;)  We're all very happy about it though, so it was a good joke.

Amazon:
If you're just starting a family, TTC, or are a compulsive test taker.....this may be a great option!  The Wondfo brand pregnancy test strips (25-ct.) on Amazon are currently $8.15 + FREE Super Saver Shipping!  That's .33¢ each!  Even cheaper than the dollar store tests and the comments are overwhelmingly positive.  They are reported to be very accurate and very sensitive so you can find out faster!  (You can also get the Wondfo 50-ct. pregnancy test strips for only $15.95 -- .32¢ each! Also eligible for FREE SSS)  For the same price as an expensive "name brand" test at the store, you can get up to 50 test strips!
*Note that Amazon prices do vary, but these are the prices today.  =)  I have seen them lower than this too!

I hope this information helps and good luck!  =)

Amazon.com: Pampers Newborn Diapers Only $3.50 a Pack + FREE Shipping!

For the last 12 years I've been on constant lookout for deals on diapers.  Now that we're expecting #6, I've been looking for itty-bitty diaper deals again, which I think are harder to find. The best deals seem to be on the bigger sizes (3-5), and those newborn diapers can be pricey!

I was happy to come across this price though....only $3.54 per pack of 20 newborn Pampers Swaddlers = .17¢ a diaper! And it has FREE shipping!

This is a 12pk of 20ct packages, which may seem like a lot, but when their cute little booties are going through 8-10 a day, they add up fast, lol!

This is also a great diaper deal to take advantage of to:
  • stock up for baby showers
  • donation item for pantries or shelters
  • help out a new mom
  • split an order with a friend or two

FREE eBook on Amazon.com: "Boys and Manners: 104 Things Your Boys NEED to Know"!

Amazon is offering the "Boys And Manners: 104 Things Your Boys NEED to Know" e-book for Kindle for FREE!  In today's society, manners are not nearly as encouraged as they should be -- this looks like a great read and it's rated 5-stars (out of 278 reviews)!

  • If you don’t have a Kindle, you can just download a free reading app from Amazon which will allow you to read this on your PC, iPad, iPhone, blackberry, android, Mac and more!

"Emily Post said: "Manners are a sensitive awareness of the feelings of others. If you have that awareness, you have good manners, no matter what fork you use."

Good old Emily Post was right. It doesn't really matter what fork your Boys use... The essence of Good Manners runs much deeper than that. A Boy's manners are reflected in how they interact with those around them - family members, their friends, other adults. The kind of manners your Boys display toward others tell more about their character than any words can say.

In days gone by, Good Manners used to be considered important -- even essential. But somehow over the past couple of generations, our society has shifted from "caring for others" to "pleasing ourselves". Academic achievement (learning facts and knowledge) has become much more important than learning to show civility and respect to those around us.

We live in a day and age where manners are NOT highly valued -- and bad manners are actively promoted. Plain old common courtesy is at an all-time low. If ever there was a time that instilling good manners into our Boys was difficult, it is now. In fact, this can be one of the toughest jobs a parent has to face.

BOYS AND MANNERS contains some of the tools you need to l help guide you in your ongoing quest to instill better manners into your Boys... and at the same time help them understand the true reasons why "good manners" are so vitally important, right now and for their future."

FREE eBook: "And Then I Had Teenagers" - $14.99 value!

Amazon is offering the "And Then I Had Teenagers: Encouragement for Parents of Teenagers and Preteens" e-book for Kindle for FREE today only!

This is funny timing because I was just talking to a friend yesterday about how parenting our preteens was really challenging us - I think this book will be a great help!
It has a 5-star rating, and is valued at $14.99!
Also, I learned about this freebie by reading this great, but short blog about "Raising Kids with Character".

  • If you don’t have a Kindle, you can just download a free reading app from Amazon which will allow you to read this on your PC, iPad, iPhone, blackberry, android, Mac and more!

"Susan Yates, author of 'And Then I Had Kids', tackles the trials of parenting adolescents in this down-to-earth Christian manual. She encourages parents to not just endure, but to enjoy, their children's teen years. She identifies some common challenges teens who suddenly become uncommunicative, who reject the faith of their childhood or who are hypercritical of themselves and others.
She also discusses "hot topics" such as dating, driving, grades, drugs, TV and movies. What places this parenting guide a cut above is its honesty; Yates is quite frank about the joys and sorrows of raising her own five kids (who were so closely spaced that there was one year when they were all teenagers! Yikes!). Christian parents will appreciate Yates's warm and wise counsel."
